Ring-necked Duck

These guys did NOT want to be photographed! Which is partly why these photos are not as sharp as I would like. That and the fact that I had to shoot through a chain-link fence, and I could only follow them slowly, since I had my 7 month old and 3 year old with me.

But I'm excited to have finally captured these ducks on film...er, megabytes. I see them every day on my way to the gym, in a small chained off marsh area right on the side of a busy intersection. Not an ideal place for bird-watching with children.

The female.

Maybe someday I'll get a bigger zoom lens, and then it won't matter that my entourage and I can't sneak up on the birds!
